Intense Competition Highlights New Battle Features

Nintendo will launch Champions, a new competitive entry for mobile and Switch, in April 2026. The game focuses on tournament play and streamlined roster tools.

Launch and platform integration

The release date is set for April 2026. Champions will appear on both mobile devices and Nintendo Switch.

It adds direct integration with Pokémon Home. That allows one-way transfers into the game from Home.

Battle mechanics and features

Intense Competition Highlights New Battle Features such as the return of Mega Evolution. Mega forms are once again part of high-level play.

Selected partner Pokémon unlock exclusive Mega Stones when transferred from Pokémon Home. Those partners include Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja and Floette.

Assistants and player guidance

  • Tatora
  • Kitt
  • Cordy
  • Caraway
  • Kajima

These named assistants help players with tournament entry, roster building, and strategy. They act as in-game guides for competitive preparation.

Transfer systems and permanence rules

Champions accepts compatible visitors imported from Pokémon Go and older mainline entries. The import system aims to simplify getting battle-ready Pokémon into the game.

Transfers are one-way. Pokémon moved into Champions cannot be returned to permanent Pokémon Home storage.

Competitive structure and social features

The title centers on a social Battle Arena for match-making and contests. It is designed as a focused hub for trainers targeting Championship play.

Simplified transfer tools and guided roster options lower the barrier to high-level competition. The goal is faster entry into organized, serious play.

Rewards and limited-time content

Qualifying players who download early can receive a Dragonite reward. The Dragonite is delivered via an in-game mailbox and is available for a limited time.
