Panthers’ Top 2025 Tackler Joins Division Rival
Christian Rozeboom is expected to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. The 29-year-old inside linebacker departs Carolina after one season.
Contract background and role
Carolina signed Rozeboom last spring to a one-year, $3.5 million deal. He took over a starting role after Josey Jewell stepped away from football during the summer following a concussion.
Rozeboom started all 16 regular-season games. He also started the Panthers’ wild-card playoff game against his former team, the Los Angeles Rams.
2025 performance
Rozeboom finished the regular season as Carolina’s leading tackler. His stat line included 122 tackles, 2.0 sacks, one interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Move to Tampa Bay
The veteran linebacker will join a Buccaneers defense that recently added former Panthers defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson. Robinson agreed to a one-year deal with Tampa Bay.
This marks another instance of a Panthers’ top 2025 tackler joining a division rival. The move strengthens Tampa Bay’s front seven depth.
What to watch next
Rozeboom projects to compete for immediate playing time in Tampa Bay. His tackling production will be the key metric to evaluate.
