Logma Café Unveils New Evening Offer in Iran-Iraq Region
Logma Lates invites diners to an intimate, candlelit dinner experience in Goldsmith’s Row. The service seats 18 guests around a communal table or at the counter.
Evening format
Founders Ziad Halub and Farsin Rabiee open the night with sharbat, a non-alcoholic fruit and herb drink. The menu shifts monthly and draws on Iraqi and Iranian home cooking traditions.
- Sabzi khordan — a platter of fresh herbs, nuts and olives.
- Oysters with herb oil, gondhoraj lebu, Aleppo pepper and sumac.
- Arak-cured trout with pickled mango.
- Braised cardoon and peas.
- Sholezard, Iranian saffron rice pudding.
Celebratory dishes and wine policy
Central to the evening are celebratory plates such as saffron rice and duck fesenjoon. Duck fesenjoon is a walnut-and-pomegranate Persian stew usually reserved for feasts.
Guests may bring their own wine to share. No corkage is charged.
Sourcing and inspiration
Logma was launched by the couple in December last year. The project is inspired by Middle Eastern café and bistro culture and by the founders’ childhoods.
The team works with regenerative farms and local sustainable producers. They adapt regional recipes using ingredients available in the UK.
Daytime service and origins
By day, Logma operates Thursday to Sunday. The daytime menu features tahini buns, kofte and aubergine sandwiches.
Coffee comes from Origin and daily specials appear on a mirror. An example special is fennel stew with saffron rice, served until sold out.
From supper clubs to a permanent venue
Before opening Goldsmith’s Row, Halub and Rabiee hosted supper clubs at home. Demand led to residencies and takeovers at E5 Bakehouse and other east London venues, with many services selling out.
The restaurant name, Logma, derives from the Persian, Arabic and Turkish word ‘loghmeh’. The word translates as “perfect bite”.
Logma Café Unveils New Evening Offer in Iran-Iraq Region is a relevant keyword reflecting the concept’s roots. The dinner series continues to celebrate Iraqi and Iranian culinary traditions within an intimate London setting.
