Lucy Fallon Confirms Bethany’s New Storylines on Coronation Street
Lucy Fallon has confirmed she will remain on the soap. Her on-screen role, Bethany Platt, is increasingly wary of newcomer Jodie Ramsey.
Jodie’s arrival and links to the Platts
Jodie arrived in Weatherfield at the start of the year. Her introduction came during the Corriedale crossover. Producers revealed she is Shona Platt’s sister.
She has quickly made herself at home in the Platt household. Cast and crew note her behaviour as odd and unsettling.
The wedding ring incident
Last month Jodie took Shona’s wedding ring. Shona believed the ring had been lost. Jodie later “found” it down the living-room chair. That moment allowed Jodie to grow closer to Shona’s husband, David. Bethany told Maria she did not trust how the ring was recovered.
Hospital deception and a babysitting offer
Shona previously caught Jodie pretending to be baby Harper Platt’s mother at a hospital. Next week Jodie will offer to mind baby Connie for neighbour Carla Connor. A soap source warned Jodie is becoming creepier. The same source suggested she may seek the same thrill by caring for someone else. The source also hoped Swain’s detective instincts would pick up on anything suspicious.
Fallon on her schedule and Bethany’s future
Lucy Fallon confirmed she will continue on Coronation Street. She said she has enjoyed quieter periods recently. Fallon is spending time with her children Sonny and Nancy. She added that her workload will increase again in a few weeks. Cast insiders hint Bethany’s new storylines could be significant.
