Ronaldinho (born 1980)
Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho debuted for Brazil’s under-17 team in 1997. He starred for Brazil at the 2002 World Cup and played for top clubs, including FC Barcelona and AC Milan.
He won FIFA World Player of the Year honors in 2004 and 2005. His club career also included spells at Flamengo and Atlético Mineiro.
Jordi Alba (born 1989)
Jordi Alba established himself as one of Spain’s top defenders. He represented Spain at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Alba announced in October 2025 that he would retire after Inter Miami’s 2025 MLS season. That season ended with Inter Miami’s first MLS Cup, a 3-1 win over Vancouver.
Football and basketball
Adrian Peterson (born 1985)
Adrian Peterson ranks fifth in NFL history with 14,918 rushing yards. He also has 120 career rushing touchdowns.
Peterson won the NFL MVP award in 2012 and earned seven Pro Bowl selections. His 15-year NFL career ran from 2007 to 2021 and included stops with multiple teams.
Miles Bridges (born 1998)
Miles Bridges was the 12th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. The Clippers selected him and traded him to the Charlotte Hornets on draft night.
Bridges starred at Michigan State under Tom Izzo. Through his first five NBA seasons, he averaged about 15.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
Baseball and hockey
Carlos Carrasco (born 1987)
Carlos Carrasco is a beloved figure in Cleveland sports history. The Venezuelan right-hander spent his first 12 MLB seasons with the Guardians from 2009 to 2020.
He compiled a 91-83 record, a 3.91 ERA and 1,394 strikeouts in 1,346 innings. Carrasco helped Cleveland reach the 2016 World Series and finished fourth in 2017 AL Cy Young voting.
He later pitched for the New York Mets and split the 2025 season between the Yankees and Braves.
Tommy Davis (1939–2022)
Tommy Davis was a three-time All-Star outfielder who played from 1959 to 1976. He spent his first eight seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In 1962 he led Major League Baseball with a .346 average, 230 hits and 153 RBIs. Davis helped the Dodgers win the 1963 World Series and led MLB with a .326 average that season.
Davis died on April 3, 2022, in Phoenix at age 83.
Ryan Callahan (born 1985)
Ryan Callahan played 13 NHL seasons from 2006 to 2019. He skated for the New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The right wing recorded 386 points, with 186 goals and 200 assists, across 757 games. He stood 5-foot-10 and weighed 187 pounds.
