A New York ticket matched five numbers on that midweek drawing. That ticket won a $1 million prize.

How Powerball works and odds

Powerball drawings occur at 11 p.m. ET on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. That schedule includes holidays.

According to Filmogaz.com, the odds of matching all six numbers are 1 in 292.2 million. Powerball tickets start at $2. Mega Millions tickets start at $5.

The next drawing after March 21 was scheduled for Monday, March 23.

Recent jackpot history

Powerball reset to a $20 million starting jackpot for the March 4 drawing. That followed a March 2 winner in Arkansas who took home $249 million.

Earlier, the Dec. 24, 2025 drawing produced a $1.817 billion jackpot. That ticket was purchased at a Murphy USA gas station inside a Walmart Supercenter in Cabot, Arkansas. The winner claimed the prize on Jan. 22, 2026 and elected to remain anonymous.

Within roughly two months, Arkansas saw two large Powerball jackpot winners.
