Zarco and Razgatlioglu Shine in Brazil MotoGP Practice Session

Johann Zarco set the pace in a chaotic second practice at Goiania. He posted a 1m21.257s lap, the quickest of the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend so far.

Zarco and Razgatlioglu both shone during the Brazil MotoGP practice session. Wet weather delayed running earlier. The first half-hour provided the only sustained dry track time.

Session dynamics and stakes

Rain returned with 30 minutes remaining. Teams scrambled to lock a top-10 time for direct access to Q2. The conditions produced surprise results and shuffled the order.

Direct qualifiers for Q2

  • Johann Zarco
  • Marc Marquez
  • Toprak Razgatlioglu
  • Jorge Martin
  • Pedro Acosta
  • Alex Marquez
  • Fabio Quartararo
  • Fermin Aldeguer
  • Pecco Bagnaia
  • Ai Ogura

Notable runs and teams

Marc Marquez finished second. Toprak Razgatlioglu impressed on the Yamaha. Fabio Quartararo moved into the top ten with a late push.

Jorge Martin stayed near the front for Aprilia and finished fourth. Pedro Acosta set the benchmark for KTM in fifth.

Ducati presence and returnees

At least four Ducatis made Q2. Those included Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia. Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer also qualified.

Aldeguer returned from a femur injury. He still struggled to walk but was competitive. He ended about six tenths off Zarco’s pace.

Tight margins and decisive moments

The final Q2 berth was decided by 0.021 seconds. Ai Ogura edged Luca Marini thanks to a well-timed tow from Alex Marquez. That small gap proved decisive.

Crashes and complications

Several riders saw their Q2 hopes end in incidents. Jack Miller, home rider Diogo Moreira, and Brad Binder all crashed. Miller and Moreira had been inside the top ten when they fell.

Franco Morbidelli ran out of fuel after ignoring a pit-to-box instruction. His late “Hail Mary” attempt left his chances compromised. Marco Bezzecchi also failed to set a competitive time as rain arrived.

Filmogaz.com will follow qualifying and race action as the weekend progresses. The wet-dry conditions have left the grid wide open for Saturday.
