Powell Welcomes Star Recruit Back

Wakefield Trinity have announced their 21-man squad for the Super League meeting with Leigh Leopards on Friday 20 March. The match kicks off at 8pm. The squad announcement was released on March 18, 2026.

Match context

Leigh Leopards have struggled in the early part of the 2026 Super League season. Their only win came in Round One, against Leeds Rhinos. Wakefield will look to take advantage of that form.

Team news

Powell Welcomes Star Recruit Back as Tyson Smoothy has been restored to the squad. Head coach Daryl Powell confirmed Smoothy returns after missing two matches under concussion protocols.

Smoothy is a former Brisbane Broncos player. He had appeared four times this season before failing a HIA at Warrington. Tray Lolesio has been omitted from the squad to join Bradford Bulls on a one-week loan.
