Police Arrest Knife-Wielding Suspect After Forest Hills Bus Station Struggle
One person was taken into custody and six people went to hospitals after an incident at the Forest Hills MBTA busway. Boston EMS confirmed the injuries and Transport Police reported the arrest.
What happened
Transit police responded at about 11:15 a.m. on March 20, 2026. Officers were sent to the Forest Hills bus station for reports of a man with a knife.
Transit Police Chief Richard Sullivan said the suspect threatened people and tried to stab bus tires. Officers located the man and a physical struggle followed.
Officer discharge and injuries
During the struggle, an officer’s weapon discharged, officials said. No one was struck by the round.
The initial officer suffered a knee injury and was taken to hospital. A second officer was also transported. In total, six people ended up at hospitals.
