British Man Discovered Dead in Phuket Beach Drainage Canal

A British man was discovered dead in a drainage canal near Bang Tao Beach in Phuket on March 14. A local worker found the body around 12:30pm while harvesting morning glory.

Discovery at the canal

The man was identified as 33-year-old Jordan Wright. He was found lying face down in the canal.

He wore a grey shirt and black trousers and had no shoes. A hotel keycard was in his pocket.

  • An iPhone 17 was found on the canal bank.
  • No other valuables were reported at the scene.

Police response and hotel enquiries

Officers from Choeng Thalay Police Station were notified and attended the scene. Wright’s body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for autopsy.

Police later examined the CoCo Phuket Bangtao Hotel. Staff said Wright had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13.

Investigators searched the room and found no signs of forced entry or theft. They reported nothing suspicious inside the accommodation.

CCTV and initial findings

Hotel security footage showed the man pacing outside the building shortly before he vanished from view. Cameras captured him moving back and forth, then walking toward the canal.

Authorities saw no obvious signs of physical assault or a struggle at the scene. Investigators suggested he may have been under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants.

Next steps in the inquiry

Police are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death. Toxicology tests will establish whether intoxicants were involved.

Local and national authorities continue to review evidence and witness statements. Filmogaz.com will report further updates as investigations progress.
