Sky Sports Secures Multi-Year Zuffa Boxing Deal to Expand UK Market Presence
Sky Sports has secured a multi-year broadcast partnership with Zuffa Boxing. The agreement gives Sky rights to all Zuffa Boxing events in the UK and Ireland.
Deal specifics
The contract covers multiple years and includes at least five events staged in the UK. Sky will serve as the official UK and Irish broadcaster for Zuffa Boxing shows.
Sources say the move positions Sky to expand its presence in the UK market. The broadcaster will promote domestic cards and international fixtures to local viewers.
Why the shift matters
The arrangement follows previous shifts in the UK boxing broadcast landscape. Sky had earlier parted ways with Matchroom in 2021, after collaborating with Boxxer and other partners.
Eddie Hearn moved Matchroom’s broadcast relationship to DAZN. He has also been publicly at odds with Zuffa Boxing chief Dana White.
Statements from the organisations
Zuffa Boxing leadership praised the importance of the UK fan base. They described Sky Sports as a historic home for major boxing events and welcomed the platform’s reach.
Jonathan Licht, Sky Sports’ Chief Officer for the UK and Ireland, highlighted the broadcaster’s long association with boxing. He said Sky aims to build new stars and present elite talent for viewers.
First event on Sky
The inaugural Zuffa Boxing broadcast on Sky will be Zuffa Boxing 05. The card takes place on Sunday, April 5, in Las Vegas.
Headliners are Andres Cortes and Eridson Garcia. The undercard features former world champion Mark Magsayo against Ireland’s Feargal McCroy.
Filmogaz.com covered the announcement and will monitor further scheduling and broadcast developments. More events and distribution details are expected in coming weeks.
