Dubai Flights Disruption In UAE Triggers Cancellations And Special Services To India

Travelers faced fresh turbulence on dubai flights as Indian carriers tightened operations in the United Arab Emirates, canceling services and adding special departures to move stranded passengers.

SpiceJet Adds Special Flights From Fujairah As Dubai Operations Tighten

SpiceJet said it has further restricted operations to and from Dubai amid an evolving situation in the Middle East, warning of schedule changes as it works to keep passengers informed through direct notifications. To help travelers reach India, the carrier is operating special flights from Fujairah in the UAE, as well as select additional services from Dubai.

The airline noted it is coordinating with airport authorities and other stakeholders to manage passenger handling for these services. It also outlined near-term additions: four special flights from Fujairah to India on March 16 and one additional service from Dubai to India, on top of a Dubai–Pune flight arranged to assist travelers. Earlier in the month, the carrier operated eight special flights from the UAE to facilitate the return of Indian nationals.

Regional rerouting has added to the operational complexity. Gulf Air said the ongoing closure of Bahrain’s airspace has prompted it to temporarily operate several commercial flights Dammam, expanding options through King Fahad International Airport while it monitors the situation.

Air India Express Cancellations Hit Dubai, Sharjah And Abu Dhabi

In a separate setback for travelers, Air India Express canceled several flights to three major UAE airports—Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi—on March 15. The disruption is expected to inconvenience many passengers, with limited same-day alternatives likely to increase the risk of delays and missed connections.

The airline has said it is working to accommodate affected customers, though it has not provided specific reasons for the cancellations. Uncertainty remains over how quickly full schedules will stabilize, leaving many travelers to juggle rebookings and altered itineraries while they await further updates.

What The Dubai Flights Changes Mean For Travelers

With carriers adjusting schedules, passengers should expect rolling changes and potential last-minute reassignments. For those booked on dubai flights in or out of the UAE, the most immediate steps are to monitor airline notifications and check flight status before heading to the airport. Special services from Fujairah offer an alternative pathway for some India-bound travelers, while limited additional departures from Dubai may ease bottlenecks in specific city pairs.

Rerouted services in the region—such as flights operating Dammam due to Bahrain airspace constraints—can lengthen journeys or shift connection points. Travelers should build in extra time, stay alert to gate and routing changes, and keep essential documents and any required transit permissions handy in case of altered itineraries.

The situation remains fluid, and airlines are signaling they will update schedules as conditions evolve. Passengers are best served by remaining flexible, tracking messages from their carriers closely, and considering nearby departure points within the UAE when rebooking options are presented.
