State Police Honor Fallen Corporal O’Connor, Killed in Traffic Stop Tribute

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) is mourning the loss of Corporal Timothy O’Connor Jr., who was tragically killed during a traffic stop. In March 2022, O’Connor moved to Troop J, Embreeville, and was promoted to corporal in July 2022.

The Tragic Incident

On the night of the shooting, Corporal O’Connor responded to reports of an erratic driver in Honey Brook Township. He quickly located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at approximately 8:24 PM near the intersection of Route 10 and Michael Road. As he approached, the driver opened fire, striking him.

The assailant, identified as Jesse Nathan Elks, 32, exited his vehicle shortly after the attack and fatally shot himself with a semi-automatic pistol. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
