Tesla Australia to Launch Six-Seat Model Y L in 2026
Tesla is set to launch a significant expansion of its Supercharging network, introducing the largest station to date in Yermo, California. This ambitious project will feature over 400 charging stalls, reinforcing Tesla’s commitment to electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
Tesla’s New Six-Seat Model Y L in 2026
In addition to this Supercharger initiative, Tesla plans to unveil the six-seat Model Y L in 2026. This new offering is expected to attract family-oriented consumers looking for spacious, electric SUV options.
Details of the Yermo Supercharger Expansion
The expansion at Eddie World Supercharger will unfold in six phases, with construction on the first phase starting later this year. This phase will introduce 72 new V4 charging stalls.
- Phase 1: 72 V4 stalls
- Phase 2: Additional V4 stalls
- Phase 3: Enhanced capacity
- Phase 4: Further expansions
- Phase 5: Completion of core charging facilities
- Phase 6: Final design to be determined
This site strategically sits on Interstate 15, a major route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, catering to the high demand for EV charging in that area.
Current Charging Landscape
Currently, the surrounding 20-mile corridor boasts over 200 high-power charging stalls. This includes:
- 40 stalls at 250 kW
- 120 stalls at 325 kW
- 96 stalls in nearby Baker
Despite the existing infrastructure, bottlenecks occur during peak travel, highlighting the need for increased capacity.
Innovative Features of Eddie World 2
Beyond merely increasing the number of stalls, the development will blend charging with convenience. Planned amenities include:
- 10,100 square feet for a Cracker Barrel
- 4,300 square feet for a McDonald’s
- 3,800 square feet for a convenience store
- Additional restaurants and drive-thrus
- Outdoor dining spaces
Moreover, features designed for larger EVs, like pull-through bays for Cybertrucks and future Semi trucks, will enhance accessibility.
The Future of EV Charging
This project aims to redefine highway stops, transforming a typical desert exit into a futuristic EV oasis. As Tesla ramps up its Supercharger network, it is positioning itself to meet the demands of rising EV adoption and the evolving landscape of transportation.
