Hora Reynosa marks the start of Horario de Verano 2026 Sunday
hora reynosa is changing overnight as Reynosa begins Horario de Verano 2026, with clocks moving forward one hour at 2: 00 a. m. ET on Sunday. As of Saturday at 11: 30 a. m. ET, residents are being reminded to adjust watches and devices to avoid missed appointments and disruptions in work and daily schedules.
Hora Reynosa: Clocks jump from 2: 00 a. m. ET to 3: 00 a. m. ET Sunday
The time change in Reynosa takes effect at 2: 00 a. m. ET on Sunday, when clocks advance directly to 3: 00 a. m. ET. The same practical rule applies across participating border areas: when it reaches 2: 00 a. m., the time is set ahead by one hour.
In Reynosa, guidance tied to the start of Horario de Verano 2026 has emphasized a simple goal: set clocks and electronic devices on time to manage activities, sleep adequately, and meet work obligations or appointments without complications.
Reynosa joins 33 border municipalities until Nov. 1, 2026
The Horario de Verano schedule described for the northern border region applies to 33 municipalities and runs until Nov. 1, 2026. That list includes Reynosa and nine other cities in Tamaulipas.
Separately, the same seasonal clock change has been described for other border areas. In Ciudad Juárez, residents are also instructed to advance clocks one hour at 2: 00 a. m. on Sunday as Horario de Verano takes effect in that border city.
Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas and Baja California continue the change
While Horario de Verano was eliminated in most of Mexico in 2022, it continues to apply in northern border zones to align activities with the United States and facilitate cross-border arrangements. The states identified as continuing the change in these border areas are Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. Sonora does not make time changes.
The border-area adjustment has also been described as affecting daylight patterns, bringing more natural light in the afternoons and less light in the mornings. The springtime clock change can be harder for some people, with darker mornings and brighter evenings potentially disrupting the internal body clock. Some studies have found an increase in heart attacks and strokes immediately after the March time change, and some people with seasonal affective disorder may also experience difficulties.
Next: The clock change is scheduled for 2: 00 a. m. ET Sunday, when hora reynosa advances by one hour and participating border municipalities shift to the new Horario de Verano 2026 time.
