Six Flags Sells La Ronde; Calypso Operator Takes Over Management

Details of the Acquisition
The transaction, valued at approximately $331 million USD (around $451.5 million CAD), includes parks primarily located in the United States. The sale is expected to be finalized within a month.
Management Transition
La Ronde will be operated by La Ronde Operations Inc., under the leadership of Kieran Burke. Burke is also the owner of Village Vacances Valcartier in Quebec and Calypso waterpark in Limoges, Ontario.
Commitment to Tradition
Kieran Burke expressed a personal connection to La Ronde, recalling his childhood visits during Expo 67. He reaffirmed his commitment to honor the park’s traditions and rich history, which hold great significance for both Montreal residents and international visitors.
Future of La Ronde
- Existing season passes for 2026 will be honored, including Six Flags’ multi-park pass.
- La Ronde was initially sold to Six Flags by the City of Montreal for approximately $30 million in 2001.
