Jets Clash with Sharks: Gameday Highlights

Walker Duehr is set to make his debut with the Winnipeg Jets against the San Jose Sharks. This matchup marks the end of the Jets’ three-game road trip. Duehr expressed excitement about facing the team where he concluded the previous season, stating his intent to play a fast, physical game.

Walker Duehr’s Journey to the Jets

The 28-year-old forward had a brief tenure with the Sharks, featuring in eight games and scoring two goals. Additionally, he notched nine points in 16 games with the San Jose Barracuda, the Sharks’ AHL affiliate. After productive discussions over the summer, Duehr signed a one-year contract with the Jets.

Thus far in the 2025-26 season, he has excelled with the Manitoba Moose, recording 12 goals and 26 points in 39 games. “The coaching staff and the guys on there do a great job,” said Duehr about his time with the Moose. “We’re a close group and it’s been a lot of fun.”

Injury Updates and Line Adjustments

Unfortunately for the Jets, Vladislav Namestnikov will be sidelined due to a lower body injury. The injury occurred following a collision with Jets captain Adam Lowry. Duehr will take Namestnikov’s place on the right wing, joining linemates Jonathan Toews and Gustav Nyquist.

Coaching Staff’s Perspective

Jets head coach Scott Arniel praised Duehr’s skills and preparation during practice. “He’s a big guy, heavy, he can really skate,” Arniel noted. He emphasized that Duehr has earned this opportunity with the team.

Upcoming Game Against the Sharks

The Jets are preparing to face the Sharks at SAP Center. The afternoon game means no morning skate, making practice line rushes the key indicator of the anticipated lineup. Currently, the Jets are hopeful for the participation of leading point scorer Mark Scheifele, despite his recent struggles following a tough overtime loss.
