The band gorillaz has announced its first extensive North American tour in nearly four years, mounting a 22-date run in support of The Mountain that begins Sept. 17 in Orlando and closes Oct. 31 in Seattle.
Gorillaz headed to Oakland Arena
The tour will hit Oakland Arena on Oct. 28 as part of the newly announced schedule. Creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett will bring the Gorillaz live band to these shows, and Albarn will be joined onstage by “some very special guest performers. ” The concert experience has been described by Rolling Stone as “an overwhelming pop spectacle. ”
Stops from Orlando to Seattle
The route opens Sept. 17 at Kia Center in Orlando and includes arena dates across the United States and Canada. Early legs feature Sept. 18 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Sept. 20 at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival, Sept. 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York, Oct. 3 at Bell Centre in Montreal and Oct. 4 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Midwest and West Coast arena stops include Oct. 7 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit and the tour finale on Oct. 31 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
Most dates will feature support from Little Simz and Deltron 3030, and the shows are presented as a live realization of the band’s latest album, The Mountain.
Tickets, presales and the next milestones
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a. m. ET on March 9. Several presales are scheduled: a KONG Card presale begins at 10 a. m. ET on March 4, a Citi card presale starts at noon ET on March 4, and a Gorillaz Artist Presale opens at 10 a. m. ET on March 6 with preregistration required by 7 a. m. ET on March 5.
Gorillaz originally planned a North American run in 2023 but pulled out of those dates because of scheduling conflicts and circumstances beyond the band’s control; the new fall itinerary marks the group’s return to a broad arena slate.
The next confirmed milestone for fans is the public on-sale at 10 a. m. ET on March 9; the first tour performance is scheduled for Sept. 17 at Kia Center in Orlando.
