TVA Board Chairman Steps Down, SEC Filing Reveals
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) board has seen significant changes recently, with the resignation of its chairman. Bill Renick stepped down from his position as a board member, effective February 24.
Key Developments in TVA Leadership
According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing dated March 2, Renick’s resignation signifies a turbulent period for the TVA board. He initially joined the board in 2023 and became chairman in April, following the dismissal of Joe Ritch by former President Donald Trump.
Changes to the TVA Board
Ritch was one of three members removed last year. The ousted members included:
- Joe Ritch
- Michelle Moore
- Beth Geer
In January, TVA welcomed four new board members: Art Graham, Mitch Graves, Jeff Hagood, and Randy Jones. They join existing members Bobby Klein and Wade White, ensuring the board maintains a quorum with at least five members present.
Future of TVA Leadership
Renick was initially appointed to a term set to expire on May 18, 2027. The SEC filing also indicated that Jeremy Fisher, TVA’s executive vice president and chief business officer, would leave his position effective Monday.
