Mafs Reunion: mafs reunion explodes as April Holmes is left in tears
The mafs reunion returned with a stormy Series 10 gathering on March 1 that left April Holmes in tears. April, who is based in Weymouth and joined the 10th series as a latecomer last year, had come back to the event to face an off‑camera dispute with Rebecca Fenney.
Mafs Reunion: April and Rebecca
The reunion opened with tension after it emerged that Rebecca's former partner, Bailey Smith, had a fling with one of April's close friends just days after splitting from Rebecca. That revelation left the brides on the show frosty with one another: Rebecca felt April should have informed her about the fling immediately rather than waiting for Rebecca to make contact.
How the conversation turned sour
Early in the reunion, co‑stars attempted to resolve their issues, but the discussion took a bitter turn. Rebecca told April: "I don't dislike you, I would just never associate with someone like you, " adding: "I'm treating you like the opposite of a girls' girl, which is what you are. " Rebecca also voiced that she had been wary of April's character for some time.
The exchange left April tearful and angry; she labelled Rebecca a "b****" and "mean girl". Fellow cast members moved to intervene, and Leigh Harris was singled out by April as someone who helped her through the day.
Post‑reunion reactions and social media
Viewers rallied around April on social media, with many criticising Rebecca for not directing the same hostility towards Bailey, who instigated the fallout. After the reunion, April posted a statement on social media that read: "Thank you so much for the overwhelming kindness since last night, that was one of the toughest days for me in the whole experiment. " She continued: "Thank you to the crew and some of the cast who helped me through it, especially [Leigh Harris] I genuinely don't think I would've got through that day without you. "
Rebecca also shared her side on social media on Monday, March 2: "I understand I came across cold and harsh at the reunion - I had been hurt and we spent hours dragging it all back up for the sake of the episode. I'm just human, and talking about it took its toll. I was defensive and cold at times and I'm sorry if I upset anybody. " Rebecca, described as a business owner in the cast, said she had been wounded because April initially confided in fellow bride Abigail Lindsay before telling Rebecca about Bailey's affair.
Bailey, the split and final vows
Questions about how Bailey and Rebecca's breakup unfolded were revisited at the reunion. Bailey Smith said he had tried to end things more than once and that he felt pressured in the relationship, saying: "I couldn't breathe without her telling me off for doing something. " He added that it felt like "she was sabotaging the relationship. "
Rebecca revealed she had been texting her ex during the show, and Bailey reluctantly recalled a private conversation they had in the car ride home after final vows that he says changed him. He told the group: "Why did I change? I changed because after final vows I feel like you lied to me because of what you told me in the car on the way home. " He continued: "You said 'I'm so sorry I've got to tell you something. During the show, I was messaging my ex' - and you didn't tell me until after final vows. " Rebecca insisted the messages were never flirty and that her ex did not know she was on the show.
Couples, splits and reconciliations
The dramatic season concluded back in November last year, and while a number of couples made it to their final vows on the show, nearly all of them separated after filming ended. Just one couple from Series 10 remain together: Abigail Lindsay and John Shepherd. The reunion also produced an unexpected new feud and some reconciliations: Maeve and Julia‑Ruth, who previously clashed after Julia‑Ruth got a matching tattoo with Maeve's ex, met with smiles and decided to bury the hatchet.
The show’s 2026 reunion is available to stream, and the March 1 gathering brought the cast together again to air the season's unresolved conflicts and personal revelations.
