The road to the 98th Academy Awards is now calendar-ready: when are the oscars 2026 is a question with a firm answer — the ceremony will be held March 15, 2026, starting at 7 p. m. ET/4 p. m. PT at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and it will air on ABC and stream on Hulu.

When Are The Oscars 2026 — date, time and where to watch

The 98th Oscars will take place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, beginning at 7 p. m. ET/4 p. m. PT. The show will be televised live on ABC and stream live on Hulu. Conan O'Brien returns as host for a second consecutive year; in a January interview he teased "a lot of possibilities" for the show as producers wait to see which films and performances land in voters' minds.

Nominees, records and reunion moments

Nominees gathered for the annual Oscars luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Feb. 10 to take the official class photo and mingle. The 2026 nominations, revealed in January with the announcement on Jan. 22, highlighted a record-breaking run for Sinners, which earned 14 nominations — surpassing the previous high shared by Titanic, La La Land and All About Eve. One Battle After Another received 13 nominations; Marty Supreme, Frankenstein and Sentimental Value each earned nine nominations; and Hamnet picked up eight.

Presenters and producers named for the show

Executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan announced a slate of presenters set to appear on the March 15 stage, including Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Chase Infiniti, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani and Maya Rudolph. Last year's acting winners Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison and Zoe Saldaña will return to present. Producers said more talent will be announced in the coming weeks.

Street closures, transit changes and public programming

City planning tied to the Oscars will affect Hollywood traffic in early March. All lanes of Hollywood Boulevard from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue will be closed from 12: 01 a. m. on Thursday, March 5, until 6 a. m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to accommodate press risers and pre-show stages. The MTA will begin re-routing bus traffic and subway trains will bypass the Ovation Hollywood station after the last regularly scheduled train on Saturday, March 14, until the first scheduled train after 6 a. m. on Monday, March 16. Between Sunday, March 1, and Oscars Sunday, March 15, additional streets and sidewalks will be closed for varying periods; details and maps are available from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Thirteenth District City Council field offices and the Academy's website.

A historical note: the ceremony was first televised on March 19, 1953, when NBC carried the 25th Oscars live from Hollywood with Bob Hope as master of ceremonies.
