Connor Storrie heads to Studio 8H with Mumford & Sons
Storrie’s SNL episode is scheduled for Feb. 28 at 8: 30 p. m. PT/11: 30 p. m. ET and will air on NBC, with Mumford & Sons set as the musical guests. Later in the show, Mumford & Sons performed their song “Rubber Band Man” with a surprise appearance by Hozier during the performance.
Hudson Williams crashes the ice in live sketch
In a studio sketch filmed on the Rockefeller Center rink, Hudson Williams skated onto Studio 8H ice and crashed into Storrie and SNL cast members Mikey Day and Ben Marshall, who were playing happy-go-lucky pals ice skating and interrupting a disastrous proposal between Veronika Slowikowska and Tommy Brennan’s characters.
As the trio awaited Williams, Mikey Day said, “I feel so free, ” and added, “I feel like Alisa Liu right now. ” Williams zoomed onto the ice to loud cheers while Slowikowska and Brennan tried to tamp down smiles amid the applause. Williams later formed a conga line and said, “I’ve never felt so cool. ” At one point, Slowikowska’s Candace says, “I don’t know, it’s just how I feel, ” and Brennan asks, “No, sorry, I meant, like, how is ice skating in a four-person train the coolest that that guy has ever felt?” Brennan is later shown on the ice saying dismissively, “OK, sounds good. I’m gonna hang with these guys. I have to figure out their secret. ”
Storrie’s sketch character was revealed to be Kendrick Lamar’s producer. Hudson Williams also joined Storrie to introduce Mumford & Sons and was present at the show’s goodnights. In the days leading up to the episode, inklings of Williams’ potential cameo percolated.
