Flights across the region grounded amid strikes and counterstrikes

Britons urged to shelter and register their presence

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has warned British nationals in several Middle East countries to "immediately shelter in place" and to avoid travel to Israel and Palestine. The FCDO advised: "Remain indoors in a secure location, avoid all travel and follow instructions from the local authorities. "

The FCDO added it was "working around the clock" to support British nationals affected and urged UK citizens to sign up to Register Your Presence and travel advice emails so the Foreign Office can send them information.

Flights grounded on Saturday are expected to remain disrupted on Sunday as authorities assess damage and security risks across terminals and nearby targets.
