Lisa Rinna Speaks Out on Allegedly Being Drugged: lisa rinna Says She Had Fentanyl
lisa rinna has publicly said she tested positive for fentanyl and amphetamines after the Season 4 premiere party for The Traitors on Jan. 8 at the Abbey in West Hollywood. She made the disclosure during an appearance on Good Day New York with hosts Jerry O’Connell and Rosanna Scotto.
Lisa Rinna on Good Day
On the broadcast, Rinna told Jerry O’Connell and Rosanna Scotto that she had fentanyl and amphetamines in her system after the Jan. 8 party. When Scotto asked, "Did you take like a test or something?" Rinna replied, "I had fentanyl in my system. Yes. I’m not kidding. I had fentanyl, high levels of amphetamines and other things, but I can’t talk a lot about it because we’re still dealing with it. It was leaked, and my team is dealing with it now. " When pressed about certainty, she said, "Yes, I was. I had fentanyl in my system. "
What her tests showed
Rinna said she confirmed the presence of fentanyl and high levels of amphetamines through testing after the party. She said she could not identify publicly who she believes was responsible, telling the hosts, "I can’t say [who did it], but it was at the Abbey in West Hollywood. " She also pushed back on suggestions that she had simply consumed too much alcohol.
Colton Underwood’s intervention at premiere party
At the event, fellow Traitors cast member Colton Underwood noticed Rinna was "completely inebriated" despite not drinking much and became concerned because he was with her the whole night. Colton notified Rinna’s team; Rinna left the party after a group picture and thanked her husband, Harry Hamlin, for helping her exit. Reports of Colton coming to Rinna’s aid note that this may surprise some viewers given their contentious moments on the show. The premiere was more than a month before Rinna’s public comments, and their on-again, off-again friendship may be off at the moment.
Abbey statement and review
When the venue was contacted, the Abbey released a statement that said Rinna’s team shared concerns following her visit and that the venue immediately conducted a thorough internal review. The statement said that when Rinna became unwell, venue security assisted her and escorted her safely out, that all available surveillance footage from the time in question was pulled and reviewed, and staff on duty were interviewed. The Abbey said it found no evidence of drink tampering or suspicious behavior toward her.
The statement added that the venue cannot speak to medical findings and does not want to speculate about toxicology results. It said it takes any report of a guest feeling unwell or unsafe extremely seriously and follows established investigative protocols. The Abbey reminded readers that drink tampering is a crime and urged guests who believe their drink has been compromised to report it immediately to management or law enforcement. The venue said it maintains extensive surveillance coverage, trained security personnel, and ongoing drink-safety measures, and that guest safety remains its highest priority.
Rinna’s memoir and past disputes
Rinna appeared on Good Day New York while promoting her memoir You Better Believe I’m Going to Talk About It. She has a long television history that includes Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Dancing With the Stars. She was selected as one of the traitors on Season 4 of the series and was known on that season for her rivalry with Colton Underwood and for clashing with fellow traitor Rob Rausch. The season finale airs Thursday night.
Rinna’s interview also touched on her contentious history with host Andy Cohen, material she addresses in her memoir. She said she was upset after Cohen published private text messages she had sent, answering "I was" when asked whether she was upset. Rinna also noted she returned to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen for the first time in four years and described that appearance as unexpectedly positive. A separate item notes Andy Cohen and Lisa Rinna visited SiriusXM Studios on February 10, 2025 in New York City, with a photo credited to Marleen Moise.
Unclear follow-up and other details
At a recent book signing, Rinna teased she may have said something at the reunion that upset Colton and prompted him to unfollow her on social media. The party where the alleged drugging occurred took place on Jan. 8 and was the Season 4 premiere event. Some reports say Colton was with Rinna the whole night and became concerned; his notifying her team led to her being escorted out after a group photo.
It remains unclear whether police were involved in the matter or whether Rinna went to a hospital. Attempts to contact Rinna’s and Underwood’s representatives produced no immediate response. Rinna has said, "So many people that I know have had this happen at the Abbey. All my daughter’s friends. I mean, this is not a first-time thing. This is something that’s gone on for years. And I do think it needs to be a conversation. And I’m glad now that it’s out and we will deal with it. I just haven’t had my own time to do that yet. " The context also references allegations from Colton Underwood’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph that he allegedly stalked her and put a tracking device on her car.
For now, lisa rinna and others involved say they are still "dealing with it, " and questions about who may be responsible and whether there will be further investigation remain unanswered.
