BBC Star Takes on New Role After Leaving Great British Sewing Bee
Comedians Sara Pascoe and Roisin Conaty have paired up for a new travel series with a twist. The pair will visit locations chosen solely for their funniest and worst online reviews.
Show concept and premiere
Zero Stars is an eight-part series. Each episode sends the duo to stay, eat and experience places rated with zero stars.
The series premieres Sunday, April 12 at 9pm on TLC. The show aims to deliver unpredictable and unconventional travel moments.
How the series came together
The format has already seen success in Scandinavia. Producers then brought Pascoe and Conaty in for test filming.
Originally, the makers had considered high-profile faces such as Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. The casting change, the comedians say, shifted the tone entirely.
Their reactions on the road
Both women described a mixture of excitement and nerves when first offered the job. Conaty said her initial thrill turned to surprise when she learned the brief involved zero-star venues.
Pascoe noted that sending comics on glossy luxury trips feels like a thing of the past. She said the project offered a very different challenge and plenty of comic material.
Unexpected discoveries
Pascoe was surprised to enjoy playing golf during filming. She found the sport more fun than she expected and liked the pastel outfits.
Conaty discovered a recurring local obsession with homemade yoghurt. Because Pascoe is vegan, Conaty became the taste-tester.
Conaty joked she ate so much yoghurt she looked like Santa Claus. Pascoe also recalled children teasing her clothes on a golf course.
Career context
This role arrives months after Pascoe left The Great British Sewing Bee. She departed after the series 11 finale in September 2025, following three series as host.
Sophie Willan was named to present the Christmas Celebrity Special in 2025 and the 2026 series. The transition marked a change in hosting for the BBC show.
What viewers can expect
The programme promises globe-trotting visits to baffling and hilarious venues. The two comedians seek experiences viewers would not find at a five-star beach resort.
Fans of a BBC star taking on a new role will find this new format fresh. It also highlights Pascoe’s move after leaving Great British Sewing Bee.
Zero Stars combines travel, comedy and social-media culture. Tune in on April 12 to see how the duo handle some of the worst-reviewed places on the planet.
