Education and social work career
Katherine received a bachelor’s degree from New York University and later earned a master’s in social work from the University of Southern California. She worked as a social worker in Los Angeles and practiced as a licensed clinical social worker in private practice. She also worked part-time at a clinic that provided community outreach, peer support and psychotherapy.
Family background and losses
She was the eldest of Short's three children and was adopted by Martin Short and his then-wife Nancy Dolman. Nancy Dolman first met Martin Short in 1972 while they worked together on a production of Godspell; they married in 1980. Dolman died from ovarian cancer in 2010, aged 58. Katherine’s younger brothers are named Henry and Oliver. Martin Short has spoken in the past about the difficulty of loss, saying in 2012, "This is the thing of life that we live in denial about, that it will ever happen to us or our loved ones, and when it does you gain a little and you suffer a little. There's no big surprise. "
Where she worked and gave back

Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world. " She was last seen in January 2020 outside Craig's, a well-known restaurant in West Hollywood.
Martin Short's tour status
martin short is currently on a two-man comedy tour with his longtime friend Steve Martin. Shows were scheduled for Friday in Milwaukee and Saturday in Minneapolis; staff at the theaters said it is unclear whether those shows will take place. The family has asked for privacy as they grieve.
