Noah Jupe on Paul Mescal

While awards season builds, Noah Jupe reflected on working alongside Paul Mescal on Chloé Zhao’s film Hamnet. Jupe said Mescal is “a humble man, ” adding: “But such an incredible man that I don't think he would ever like feel that he would need to give me any parting words, but just watching him work, and watching how he is on set and how professional and hardworking and passionate he is, it's enough for me to, like, you know, take him as a role model and be more like him. ” Jupe made these remarks at the Newport Beach Film Festival UK and Ireland Honours, where he received the Breakout Award alongside Archie Madekwe, Harry Melling and Jay Lycurgo.

The film Hamnet is Oscar nominated and carries 11 nominations, including best actress for Jessie Buckley, best supporting actor for Paul Mescal and best supporting actress for Emily Mortimer. Jupe appears in the film as Hamlet; his younger brother Jacobi plays Hamnet, the playwright's son whose death shapes the story. Jupe also noted that Mescal is currently filming a Beatles biopic.

Preparing for West End debut

The 20-year-old Jupe is preparing to make his London stage debut opposite Sadie Sink, 23, in Romeo and Juliet at the Harold Pinter Theatre. The production’s run dates are listed in different notices: one states performances begin on 18 March 2026 and run for 12 weeks until 6 June with a press night on 31 March; another notice lists the production at the Harold Pinter Theatre from March 16. Pay What You Can Lottery and day seats are available, along with group and school rates.

Sink’s appearance marks her first stage project following the conclusion of the television series in which she reprised the role of Max Mayfield. The pair recently said they had rehearsed together only twice, a point acknowledged in a profile in British Vogue, though Jupe insisted preparations were progressing well. He reflected on working with Shakespeare: “The thing with Shakespeare is, as I think we've all realised by the amount of times we've sort of done his plays, is you can never really get to a point where you're happy, like, there's so much in his plays, and it's so rich, and there's so much context and subtext. You know, we could work for like, months and months on it and then still not be close to being done. But it’s going well, I'm excited. ”

Jupe added that he and Sink have bonded over navigating fame at a young age and he said he is looking forward to using their time in the West End to “get to know one another. ” He said: “It’s always good to meet someone that's in a similar situation and has sort of been through a similar thing to you, and there's, I think in our case, there's not a lot of people out there like that. ”

Education initiative and outreach

As part of the run, the production will host The Star-Crossed Projects, a schools initiative in partnership with ATG Entertainment Creative Learning offering workshops, tickets and performance opportunities for Key Stage 3 and 4 students.

For ticketing, the company offers a Pay What You Can Lottery, day seats and group and school rates; performance dates and booking details vary in notices. The rehearsal photos accompany the announcement of the full cast and creative team for Robert Icke’s revival of Romeo and Juliet.
