World Book Day: Year 1-2 Pupils Receive ‘Bear Rescue’ Gift
To celebrate World Book Day, every Lower Primary School child will receive a special book gift. On Thursday, March 5th, Year 1 and Year 2 students will receive a copy of ‘Bear Rescue’ written by Hannah Gold.
World Book Day Celebrations
The theme for this year’s World Book Day is ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians.’ Various activities are planned to engage students:
- Drama Workshop: Students will create characters.
- Art Workshop: Participants will design their own bookmark sword.
- Storytelling Session: Aimed at making books come to life.
More than 450 students are expected to visit John Mackintosh Hall throughout the day. This initiative promotes reading for pleasure among young children.
Public Storytelling Session
After school hours, an interactive storytelling session will be held at John Mackintosh Hall. This event is tailored for children aged 5 to 8 and will be presented by GAMPA Juniors, focusing on Greek myths.
Tickets for the storytelling session are set at £5 per child. Furthermore, accompanying adults and babies in arms can attend for free.
These events are organized by Cultural Services and sponsored by the John Mackintosh Trust. Join in this celebration to encourage a love for reading!
