BC Bike Fest Debuts with XC, Enduro, and DH Races Announced
British Columbia is set to host the inaugural BC Bike Fest, a thrilling three-day mountain biking festival from May 29-31. This event will take place in Cowichan Bay, coinciding with the conclusion of the BC Bike Race and the first Mega Volt eMTB event of 2026.
BC Bike Fest Overview
The BC Bike Fest, organized by the experienced BC Bike Race team, promises an exciting gathering for mountain biking enthusiasts. Participants can look forward to various races including cross-country (XC), adaptive XC, enduro, and downhill (DH) events, all unified under this festival.
Race Locations and Activities
The festival’s central hub will be at the Cowichan Exhibition Grounds, strategically located near three distinct trail networks:
- Maple Mountain: Home to XC races.
- Mount Tzouhalem: Challenging terrain for enduro competitors.
- Mount Prevost: Features steep trails suited for the DH race.
In addition to the races, the BC Bike Fest includes various entertainment options such as bike demos, an expo area, and live music performances. Other fun activities will include a ‘Rambo Bike Relay’, Bike Toss, and a vintage bike display. Food trucks and a beer garden are also part of the festive atmosphere.
Race Schedule
Two primary race days are planned:
- May 30: BCBR Rolling Thunder XC and Adaptive XC races.
- May 31: Enduro race featuring Mount Tzouhalem’s diverse trails.
The BCBR DH event will be happening all weekend, with a track walk on May 29, practice and seeding on May 30, and finals on May 31. The DH race will be organized by Stereo Racing on tracks popularized by Canadian DH legend Stevie Smith.

This festival will also see the kickoff of the Mega Volt eMTB event, running simultaneously from May 29-31 at the same location. The 2026 season will feature another Mega Volt event in Squamish from October 2-4. Each event requires separate registration, detailed on their respective platforms.
The BC Bike Race, occurring from May 23-29, will conclude on the first day of the BC Bike Fest. This will be the final year for the traditional seven-day stage format, with future changes to the race structure anticipated.
