This competition marked Gaskell’s triumphant return to the Olympics. At the Beijing 2022 Games, she had to withdraw due to a serious knee injury suffered during training. Gaskell’s journey to the 2026 Olympics demanded immense effort, and she stated, “I’m really proud of my skiing in training and all the work it took to get here.”

Despite not achieving her desired result in the Slopestyle event, Gaskell remained optimistic. She is set to compete in the Big Air competition, with qualifying runs scheduled for February 14, 2026, and the finals on February 16, 2026.
