Pebble Beach leaderboard: Hisatsune out front after 62 as Round 2 gets underway

Ryo Hisatsune set a blistering pace with a 10-under 62 to lead the 2026 AT& T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after Round 1, with a crowded chase pack forming as the tournament moves into Friday’s second round on the Monterey Peninsula.

Where the leaderboard stands after Round 1

The early benchmark belongs to Hisatsune at 10 under, fueled by a six-under front side and a late flurry of birdies to close. Sam Burns and Keegan Bradley lurk one back at nine under after hot starts on the coastal layout. One stroke further behind, Chris Gotterup, Tony Finau, and Patrick Rodgers are all at eight under; Gotterup opened his week with six straight birdies to keep his recent surge intact.

Just off that pace, Nick Taylor, Akshay Bhatia, Andrew Novak and Tom Hoge are at seven under. Jordan Spieth and Matt Fitzpatrick sit at six under, while Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry are five under as they position themselves for a weekend run. Defending champion Rory McIlroy carded a four-under 68, highlighted by a hole-out eagle from a greenside bunker on the par-5 14th at Spyglass Hill, offset by a pair of double bogeys on par-3s after the turn. Harry Hall joined McIlroy at four under. Justin Rose posted three under, Robert MacIntyre is at one under, and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler opened with an even-par 72.

Big names to watch in Round 2

McIlroy’s card showed plenty of spark in his season debut, but the Northern Irishman will look to tighten up the par-3 scoring in Round 2 to close the gap to double digits under par. Burns’ form carried smoothly into Thursday and he’ll aim to apply pressure on the leader with a similar approach-heavy performance. Finau’s balanced start at eight under sets him up well, while Spieth and Fitzpatrick hover with enough momentum to climb quickly if they find an early run of red numbers.

Scheffler’s even-par day was an outlier given his remarkable consistency over the last year. With no cut this week, he has room to recalibrate and mount a charge before the weekend’s two rounds at Pebble Beach.

Round 2 schedule, TV and streaming window

Round 2 play continues Friday across Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill. U. S. television coverage is scheduled to begin at 3 p. m. ET. A dedicated featured-groups and featured-holes stream is slated to start at 11: 45 a. m. ET for subscribers. Tee sheets differentiate sites, with players marked (P) for Pebble Beach and (S) for Spyglass Hill.

Weather and course rotation

Conditions remain favorable for scoring: mostly sunny skies, a high near 61 degrees, light north winds around 5–10 mph and a near-zero chance of rain. The first two rounds are split between Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill before the field reconvenes at Pebble Beach for Saturday and Sunday.

Format, field and the pro-am finish

This week is a signature stop with an 80-man field and a $20 million purse. There is no cut, which keeps every contender in play for the weekend. Friday marks the final day of the celebrity-amateur component before the professionals take center stage exclusively over the final 36 holes. The amateur cast this year has drawn extra attention, including appearances from NFL star Travis Kelce and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, among other notables.

What it will take to hold the lead

With gentle breezes and receptive greens, red numbers should remain plentiful in the morning and early afternoon. Hisatsune’s 62 set a high bar, but the margin is slim with Burns, Bradley, Finau and Gotterup positioned to pounce. Expect aggressive lines on scoring holes at Pebble Beach—particularly Nos. 2, 4 and the short par-3 seventh—while those at Spyglass Hill may lean on patience through its demanding opening stretch before capitalizing on late opportunities.

By day’s end, the Pebble Beach leaderboard should crystallize around a handful of double-digit contenders—setting the stage for a signature-event weekend on one of golf’s most iconic stages.
