Lloyds and Halifax Announce Branch Closures in Wales
Between May 2026 and March 2027, Lloyds will shut down a total of 95 branches across the United Kingdom, impacting customer access significantly. The closures in Wales are part of a broader trend toward online banking.
Reasons Behind the Closures
According to Lloyds, many customers now prefer using mobile apps and online banking over visiting physical branches. The group stated, “Most customers prefer to use our mobile app, online banking or call us.” As a result, the need for in-person services has declined.
