Curran Replaces Taylor in Zimbabwe’s 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Squad

Ben Curran has been officially appointed to replace Brendan Taylor in Zimbabwe’s squad for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. This decision was made after Taylor suffered a hamstring injury during a match against Oman on February 9.

Replacement Process in ICC T20 World Cup

Any player replacement in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup requires the endorsement of the Event Technical Committee. This committee ensures all changes follow the established protocols before a new player can join the roster.

Composition of the Event Technical Committee

The Event Technical Committee for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 comprises:

  • Wasim Khan – Chair and ICC General Manager – Cricket
  • Gaurav Saxena – ICC General Manager – Events & Corporate Communications, IBC representative
  • Hemang Amin – Tournament Director, host representative
  • Shaun Pollock – Independent nominee

With this new development, Zimbabwe aims to strengthen its squad ahead of the tournament. The inclusion of Curran adds depth to the team as they prepare for international competition.
