Dykiel was born on August 26, 1948, in Grabów, Poland. In 1971, she graduated from the Warsaw PWST (Theater Academy). Her early career included a stint with the Student Satirical Theater in Warsaw from 1970 to 1972.

From 1972 to 1985, Dykiel performed at the National Theatre in Warsaw. She gained significant acclaim for her portrayal of Goplana in the 1974 production of “Balladyna,” directed by Adam Hanuszkiewicz. This innovative performance featured her riding a motorcycle on stage.
