Regal Cinemas Revives ‘Friday the 13th’ Films for Each Friday the 13th
Regal Cinemas is set to bring back classic horror films with its exciting “Friday the 13th” series in 2026. This initiative celebrates the maximum occurrence of Friday the 13th, which happens three times that year. Fans of the franchise will have the chance to relive the chilling tales of Jason Voorhees on the big screen.
Weekend Kick-Off with a Double Feature
The series will launch with a double feature of “Friday the 13th” (1980) and “Friday the 13th Part 2” (1981) on February 13. Regal’s Senior Vice President of US Content, Brooks LeBoeuf, emphasized the cinema chain’s commitment to providing extraordinary experiences for horror fans.
Full Schedule of Events
Regal Cinemas will showcase the following films on each Friday the 13th:
- February 13: “Friday the 13th” (1980) and “Friday the 13th Part 2” (1981)
- March 13: “Friday the 13th Part 3 3-D” (1982) and “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter” (1984)
- November 13: “Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives” (1986)
Omission of ‘A New Beginning’
Notably absent from the lineup is “Friday the 13th: A New Beginning” (1985). Regal opted not to include it, citing discontent among fans for its plot twist involving a ‘fake Jason.’ They have chosen to maintain the integrity of the infamous Voorhees legacy.
Event Partnership and Rewards
This year-long celebration of the “Friday the 13th” franchise is in partnership with Fangoria. Regal Crown Club members attending multiple screenings will receive continuity credits and Fangoria rewards.
Tickets for the February 13 showings are available through Regal’s theatre box offices, kiosks, mobile app, and REGmovies.com. Guests can also enjoy unlimited access by subscribing to Regal Unlimited, which allows moviegoers to see numerous films at any time.
