Immanuel Lutheran Church Hosts Ash Wednesday Lenten Vespers
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown will hold a special service on Ash Wednesday to mark the beginning of Lent. This service, which includes the administration of ashes and Holy Communion, is scheduled for February 18th at 6:30 p.m.
Lenten Vespers at Immanuel Lutheran Church
Following the Ash Wednesday service, Immanuel Lutheran Church will conduct “Lenten Vespers,” a series of evening prayer services. These services will be held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., starting on February 25th.
Pre-Service Meal
Each evening prayer service will be preceded by a welcoming community meal featuring soup and sandwich suppers at 5:30 p.m.
Service Features
The Lenten Vespers will include readings from Walter Wangerin’s acclaimed book, “The Book of God.” This work highlights Jesus, his disciples, and the events leading to his crucifixion, with the readings presented by Rev. JoAnne Moeller.
