Chinese automaker Seres has made significant strides by entering the Middle Eastern market. Their electric vehicle brand, Aito, has partnered with Performance Plus Motors, a dealer group based in Abu Dhabi. This collaboration marks Aito’s initial foray into exports beyond China.

Aito’s Launch in the UAE

Aito is the flagship brand under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance. The agreement allows Performance Plus Motors to manage the sales, delivery, and after-sales support for Aito’s luxury intelligent models in the UAE. The exact timeline for this initiative has yet to be announced.

Flagship Model and Arrival in Dubai

The Aito 9, Aito’s flagship SUV, has commenced test drives within the UAE. Recently, shipments of Aito vehicles arrived at the port of Dubai, indicating the brand’s readiness to engage with the local market.

Global Expansion Strategy

This partnership is a vital part of Aito’s globalization strategy, as noted by Jason Wang, the president of Seres’ overseas business unit. The company aims to establish a broader presence across the Middle East and explore opportunities in adjacent markets.

Aito’s Performance and Future Outlook

  • Aito previously operated exclusively in China.
  • In September, Aito showcased its global lineup at the Munich car show.
  • Seres commenced its vehicle exports in 2023, achieving 1,615 exports by November.

In 2025, Aito’s sales exceeded 420,000 vehicles, making it a crucial component of Seres’ overall success. The company’s total EV sales increased by 10.6%, reaching 472,269 vehicles.
