United Airlines is set to re-establish its nonstop route between Glasgow and New York/Newark after a seven-year hiatus. The new service will launch on May 9, 2026, and will continue until October 24, 2026, extending operations for an additional month beyond the original schedule.

Significance of the Route’s Resumption

This route marks the American airline’s return to Glasgow, having last operated it in October 2019. United will be the only U.S. airline providing direct flights from Scotland’s largest city to America, which underscores its strategic importance in United’s network.

  • Departure Time: Glasgow at 2 PM.
  • Arrival in Newark: 4:35 PM local time.
