Andora’s Borgo Castello Hosts Romantic Belvedere Event, Says Mayor

Andora, a picturesque town along the Ligurian coast, is making strides in environmental and cultural regeneration. Recently, Mayor Mauro Demichelis announced two significant initiatives that enhance the area’s community appeal and historical richness.

Oliveto di Borgo Castello: A Step Towards Sustainability

On February 7, the town will inaugurate the Oliveto di Borgo Castello. This project aims to restore the ancient olive grove that had become overgrown and hidden for decades. The initiative is part of a broader plan, titled “Ricordare il passato per costruire il futuro,” focusing on urban, economic, and social revitalization.

Key partners in this endeavor include:

  • Regione Liguria
  • Soprintendenza Liguria
  • Anci Liguria
  • Università di Genova
  • Ministero della Cultura

This project received funding from the European PNRR funds. Mayor Demichelis noted that a total area of 23,692 square meters has been improved, making it more accessible with new paths and restored stone walls. Along with ancient resilient plants, another hundred olive trees will be planted, supporting the production of extra virgin olive oil under the Borgo Castello brand.

Inauguration Ceremony Highlights

The opening ceremony will feature prominent figures, including:

  • Alessandro Piana, Regional Councillor for Agriculture
  • Michele Sonnessa, National President of the Association of Olive Cities
  • Enrico Lupi, President of the Chamber of Commerce for Riviere di Liguria
  • Pierluigi Vinai, Director of Anci Liguria

They will join Mayor Demichelis, Agricultural Council President Flavio Marchiano, and Corrado Siffredi, President of the Borgo Castello Foundation, to celebrate this significant milestone in the town’s history.

Romantic Vibrance at Belvedere Chiara Luce Badano

In addition to the olive grove, Andora is also celebrating love with a stunning installation at Belvedere Chiara Luce Badano. A large illuminated heart serves as a charming backdrop, perfect for photos with a stunning sea view.

This installation will be on display until February 22, offering residents and visitors alike a romantic setting, particularly enchanting during the evening.

Mayor Demichelis shared news of this initiative on social media, promoting it as a vibrant opportunity for couples to create lasting memories. He emphasized the importance of celebrating love in all its forms, encouraging everyone to snap a picture amid this evocative backdrop.

In summary, Andora’s recent projects not only enhance its natural beauty but also foster community spirit and historical appreciation, positioning the town as a vibrant destination for both residents and tourists.
