Impact of the Derailment
On Monday morning, a GO train departing from Union Station derailed after contacting a track switch. This incident led to significant signal system disruptions, impacting train schedules extensively. As a result, repairs to the damaged signal system are currently underway and are expected to take additional time.
On Tuesday, service operated on a modified schedule, with some delays on the Lakeshore East and West lines. Metrolinx reports that while most track repairs are complete, full restoration is still in progress.
Commuters are advised to remain flexible with their travel plans as disruptions may continue. More updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
