Train Derailment Causes Additional Delays for GTA Commuters on GO Transit

Metrolinx has announced ongoing delays for GO Transit users following a train derailment near Union Station. The incident occurred during Monday morning’s commute and significantly impacted service across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). As of Tuesday morning, the train has been removed, but travelers will experience a modified schedule.

Service Changes for GTA Commuters

According to Metrolinx, additional work is still ongoing on the affected track section. The following changes to GO Transit services are in effect:

  • Lakeshore East: 60-minute service, except during peak hours (15-30 minutes).
  • Lakeshore West: 60-minute service, except during peak hours (15-30 minutes).
  • UP Express: running at 30-minute intervals.
  • Kitchener Line: 60-minute service, except during peak hours (30 minutes).
  • Milton Line: 30-minute service during peak hours.
  • Richmond Hill Line: 60-minute peak service.
  • Stouffville Line: 30-minute service during peak hours.
  • Barrie Line: 30-minute service during peak hours.
