Current Road Closures in the Midlands
Interstate Restrictions
- Interstate 26 East at mile marker 128 in Lexington County is currently closed.
Kershaw County
- The “flyover” bridge between Highway 1 and Highway 601 is completely iced over and blocked.
Lexington County
- Old Lexington at Wessinger Road is closed.
- Longs Pond Road at Nazereth Road is closed.
- Kennerly Road is shut down between Broad River and Firetower in Irmo.
- The Irmo Fire District reported six vehicles in ditches, with an additional twelve cars stuck on icy roads.
Richland County
- Pickens Street at Blossom and Greene Streets is currently closed in Columbia.
- Broad River at Kennerly Road is also affected.
- Spears Creek Church Road between the 300-400 block has dangerous conditions.
- Forest Acres is witnessing closures on Rockbridge from Trenholm to Goldbranch.
- Brookfield to Eastshore along Rockbridge is blocked as well.
- Covenant Street is shut down from Bethel Church to Dalloz.
- Atascadero from Forest to Juarez is experiencing icy conditions.
