To facilitate their family life, the Gerrard family resided in Manama, Bahrain’s capital. This location is conveniently close to Dammam in eastern Saudi Arabia, where Gerrard managed his team. The proximity allowed him to commute easily, using the 15-mile causeway linking both nations.

Alex Gerrard showed little interest in longer stays in Saudi Arabia, partly due to the country’s cultural restrictions on alcohol and clothing. This led to the couple finding a balance between Gerrard’s professional commitments and their family life.

After leaving Al-Ettifaq, Gerrard has been involved in sports commentary for TNT Sports. He expressed a strong desire to return to Liverpool in any capacity. He has remained connected with the club, having previously served as the U18 coach.
