Ólafur Darri Ólafsson has been cast as Thor in the upcoming Prime Video series, God of War. This series is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, adapting the popular PlayStation video game inspired by ancient mythology.

Ólafsson’s Role as Thor

Thor, known as the God of Thunder, is portrayed as a once-mighty warrior now besieged by regret and personal demons. Haunted by his past, Thor struggles with isolation and addiction, distancing himself from his family. His complex character has layered depth, highlighting both the power and vulnerability of this iconic figure.

Joining an Acclaimed Cast

Ólafsson joins Ryan Hurst, who has been cast as Kratos, the series lead. Hurst previously voiced Thor in PlayStation’s God of War Ragnarök and received a BAFTA nomination for his role. Other prominent cast members include:
