Bobby Flay Unveils 3-Ingredient Gut-Healthy Breakfast Recipe
Celebrity chef Bobby Flay recently shared details of his morning routine and a very simple breakfast on Instagram. The post highlights a three-ingredient, gut-healthy breakfast recipe he has been enjoying.
Early start and coffee ritual
Flay begins his day at 5:30 a.m. and turns on CNBC. His daughter Sophie, who works as an anchor at ABC, joked about his channel choice in the comments.
He prefers a macchiato or cortado for coffee. He adds pistachio milk to his espresso for extra flavor.
Workout and schedule
After breakfast, Flay runs for about an hour on New York City streets. He follows the run with a Pilates class at Equinox.
He feeds his cats before heading to the studio. He brings a tub of homemade chicken broth for lunch.
The simple yogurt breakfast
Flay’s go-to morning cup uses a coconut-based skyr-style yogurt. He favors a toasted coconut variety from Siggi’s.
The 5.3-ounce container provides roughly 10 grams of protein. The yogurt also contains live active cultures that support gut health.
How he dresses the bowl
He stirs in a generous sprinkle of cinnamon. He tops the yogurt with a few blackberries for sweetness and texture.
Second breakfast and added toppings
Later, Flay enjoys a second yogurt bowl between workouts and filming. That bowl includes pistachios, extra berries, and a drizzle of honey.
Pistachios add crunch, some protein, and potassium. The portable snack works well on busy mornings.
Nutrition highlights
Cinnamon may help lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, according to some studies. Blackberries supply fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants.
Yogurt with live cultures can support a healthy microbiome. For someone who exercises heavily each morning, the light yogurt cup is a practical option.
