This incident began around 3:40 PM when police air surveillance detected a stolen Kia Optima in Newtown, at the intersection of Princes Highway and Roebuck Street. Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, which subsequently tried to evade capture.

Injuries and Arrests

Following the incident, a 37-year-old man in the stolen vehicle sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second occupant, a 37-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital under police guard, suffering from minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle hit by the Kia experienced minor injuries and was likewise hospitalized. Both occupants of the stolen car fled on foot but were apprehended shortly after.
