Robert Kraft Asserts Bill Belichick’s Unanimous Hall of Fame Worthiness

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has voiced his strong support for former head coach Bill Belichick’s candidacy for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Despite Belichick’s remarkable career, he did not secure a place in the Hall during his first year of eligibility.

Belichick’s Hall of Fame Candidacy

Belichick joined three senior candidates—Ken Anderson, Roger Craig, and L.C. Greenwood—for Hall of Fame consideration. Voters from the selection committee needed to select three candidates from this group. A candidate must receive at least 80 percent of the votes to be elected, a threshold Belichick did not meet.

Kraft’s Support

Kraft expressed disbelief at Belichick’s exclusion. He stated, “Whatever perceptions may exist about any personal differences between Bill and me, I strongly believe Bill Belichick’s record and body of work speak for themselves.”

He highlighted Belichick’s impressive achievements over his more than two decades as head coach, emphasizing his contributions to on-field excellence and sustained success in the NFL’s free agency and salary cap era.

Belichick’s Legacy

  • Six Super Bowl titles as head coach of the Patriots
  • Set a standard for preparation and excellence
  • Considered the greatest coach of all time

Kraft firmly believes that Belichick is deserving of a unanimous selection to the Hall of Fame. As the summer ceremony in Canton approaches, it remains uncertain if either Kraft or Belichick will have a reason to attend.
