Todd Monken’s Coaching Background
During his tenure with the Ravens, Monken played a crucial role in the team’s success. He helped quarterback Lamar Jackson secure his second MVP award in 2023. Under Monken’s guidance, the Ravens achieved impressive rankings, finishing first in the league for yards and third in points in the 2024 season.
Previous Experience with the Browns
The Browns are familiar with Monken, as he previously held the role of offensive coordinator with the team in 2019. That year, he worked alongside head coach Freddie Kitchens, who was responsible for play-calling. Monken’s strategic insight was notable during that period.
Success at Georgia
Before joining the Ravens, Monken served as the offensive coordinator for the University of Georgia from 2020 to 2022. He helped the Bulldogs secure two College Football Playoff national championships during his time there, further enhancing his reputation as an effective offensive strategist.

The Browns considered several candidates before selecting Monken. The final three contenders included Monken, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, and Rams passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase.
