Gemini Unveils AI Plus Restrictions, Launches iOS NotebookLM Integration

Gemini has recently unveiled its new AI Plus restrictions along with a significant iOS NotebookLM integration. This update brings several changes to user experience and functionalities.

AI Plus Features and Usage Limits

The AI Plus subscription, priced at $7.99 per month, enhances the Gemini app functionality. Users now have access to up to 90 prompts daily with the Gemini 3 Flash model. In comparison, the AI Pro plan offers a maximum of 300 prompts per day.

For subscribers of Gemini 3 Pro, the daily limit is capped at 30 prompts, down from 100 available in the $19.99 plan. This setup reflects a structured approach to prompt allocation.

Context Size Enhancements

Context size has also seen improvements. Free users are limited to 32,000 tokens, roughly equivalent to 50 pages of text. However, with AI Plus, this increases to 128,000 tokens. For AI Pro and Ultra users, the context window expands to 1 million tokens, allowing for up to 1,500 pages of text.

Image and Research Access

While there are no changes to the image limits for Nano Banana (100 images daily) and Nano Banana Pro (3 images daily) plans, users do receive limited access to Veo 3.1 Fast. Additionally, those using the Pro plan can utilize Deep Research features with “Limited access,” alongside the ability to manage up to 10 scheduled actions simultaneously.

It is important to note that these usage limits also apply to Google One 2 TB plan subscribers.

Integration of NotebookLM on iOS

This week, Gemini users on iOS gained access to the newly integrated NotebookLM feature. Located in the plus menu, NotebookLM allows users to tap into their notebooks and leverage them to enhance their prompts.

• Add notebooks to a Gem.
• Utilize additional Gemini tools like Canvas, Veo, Guided Learning, or Deep Research based on notebook contents.

This integration enables users to systematically develop their knowledge base, leading to more precise responses utilizing Gemini’s advanced conversational and content-creation tools. Google Workspace users can also benefit from this new functionality.
