Chuck Daly was born on May 29, 1927, in Blackrock, Dublin. He was the son of Ulick de Burgh Daly and Violet Sealy King Daly. Daly served with distinction during the Korean War, earning both the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for his bravery.

Connection to President Kennedy

Daly was the last living member of President John F. Kennedy’s West Wing staff. His close ties to this pivotal period in U.S. history marked his life with significance and respect.

Family Legacy

Daly was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Larmonth Daly. He is survived by his second wife, Christine Sullivan Daly, along with four sons: Michael, Douglas, Charles, and Kevin. His family also includes five grandchildren—Sinead, Bronagh, Aidan, Ludlow, and Marcus—and two great-grandchildren, Zelda and Ronan.

Memorial Service and Final Resting Place

A memorial service honoring Chuck Daly will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, located at 625 Main St. in Chatham, MA.

Following the service, he will be interred with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., on a date yet to be determined.
